Day & Night
West-Facing Bedroom
In a Houston summer, much of the heat that gets into a home comes through the windows. The shades that block the most heat stop sunlight at the glass or trap air in front of it: cellular shades, solar roller shades, and blackout roller shades. The right one depends on whether you want to keep your view, darken the room, or both.
Stopping the sun at the window keeps west- and south-facing rooms from heating up in the afternoon and eases the load on your AC.
Blackout shades keep bedrooms dark through early sunrises and late sunsets, and they help anyone who sleeps during the day.
Shades that block UV help slow fading on hardwood floors, rugs, artwork, and upholstery in sunny rooms.
Blackout fabric stops light, but a thin line of light can still show around the edges of an inside-mounted shade. If a room needs to be fully dark, an outside mount that overlaps the frame helps. Solar shades keep your view but will not darken a room at night.
Customization
Fabric opacity decides how much light and heat a shade blocks. We bring samples to your home so you can see the difference in your own rooms.
These three shade types do the most to keep sun and heat out. Many homeowners mix them room by room, or pair two on the same window.

Installed within the window frame for a clean, built-in appearance.
Mounted above or around the window. Better light blockage at edges.
We measure each window individually to determine the best mounting method. We check for frame depth, width consistency, and obstructions. No subcontractors – handled personally.
A cassette cover hides the roller and gives a blackout shade a finished look. The choice depends on the style of the room and your preference.
